There were Tainos on Puerto Rico and probably other islands as well. This is the first time I've heard they were on Haiti too. A follow up would be nifty talking about all the native peoples of the Antilles. I always thought that barbacoa and huracan were from the language of the Caribs and they were certainly more aggressive than the Tainos. Great video though. Love the use of the text as well, very neat. Oh and in resonse to Koffy PR (who probably knows this already) the Tainos finally got very skeptical of the Spanish being gods and drowned one of them in a river on Puerto Rico (as I remember) and figured they would make it up to the "gods" if the guy lived, but otherwise if he died they would know they weren't gods and they could resist them. But the Spanish were unbelievably brutal. Lots of Taino culture left on Puerto Rico, and some excellent books in Spanish as well about Itiba and her people on Puerto Rico.
Who watches Ecomog???
Good video but you did not say why Tainos were so nice to them. If you did, I missed it. Taino thought they were Gods.
