I don’t really get the p value, with the Chi square, if the p value is greater than the 0.05 value (setting this as the significance level), the null hypothesis is accepted. On the contrary, in the students T-test or spearmans rank, if the p value is greater than the value at 0.05, the null hypothesis is rejected as we are certain that for more than 95% of the data, the chance is not involved. Why is there a difference between the meaning of the p value in the different statistical tests?
